Language Choices for QuickPole
Offering users different language choices is very possible with QuickPole. QuickPole is built with the latest Java software technology to make internationalization very possible indead. Providing users with different "translations" for:
- User Interfaces (GUI)
- Results and Analysis Reports
Translations are provided within Java Programs (like QuickPole) through the use of "Resource Files"; which are simply text files that can be easily updated. Other aspects of internationalization such as character sets and currency symbols are supported by Java directly.
If a User Group wishes to have a language other than English supported within QuickPole, they simply need to provide a translated copy of the English Resource File in the language they desire. This file will then be included into QuickPole as an update for all users (as an additional language option).
As QuickPole continues to be expanded, additional minor translations would be required from time to time to keep all users' versions current. If you ask for a language to be supported, you will need to make a translator available from time to time for minor QuickPole updates.
This model of language support is designed to minimize support costs of QuickPole, while at the same time encouraging other users of the tool.
